These two cases involve an intersection collision between an automobile driven by Edwin L. Bemis and a motorcycle operated by Edward Magin. About 4:35 P.M. on March 30, 1956, Magin was traveling east on his motorcycle on West Mitchell street, an arterial highway, and Bemis was driving his automobile in a southerly direction on South 54th street in the city of Milwaukee. There was a stop sign on South 54th street for traffic approaching West Mitchell. The vehicles collided in the south half of the intersection and Magin was injured. In case No. 245, Magin sued Bemis and his insurer, the defendant Milwaukee Automobile Insurance Company, to recover damages to his motorcycle and for personal injuries. In case No. 246, Bemis sued Magin for damages to his automobile.
